January-
1. I Got A Boy- SNSD2. I Like That- GLAM
3. Mine- Jaejoong
4.24/7- 2Yoon
SNSD's I Got A Boy is one of those songs which got better as you listened with a merge of various genres. I really loved their dance and outfits in the music video, making it even better. GLAM's powerful I Like That also has a great dance and it merged Zini & Jiyeon's raps well with Dahee and Miso's vocals. The mashup was also amazing with Zini's B-girling. Mine by Jaejoong is a dark song which has a Japanese rock tint to it and the lyrics seem to have a hidden meaning to it(EYK's explanation). This guy will never cease to amaze me. 24/7 was a good attempt at country and the girls looked great in the music video. The dance is cute and simple and the song itself is quite catchy.
February-
1. One Shot- B.A.P
2. Beautiful- SHINee
3. Tell Me Tell Me- Rainbow
4. Rain Sound- B.A.P
5. Miss Right- Teen Top
B.A.P came back with their fourth EP(Extended Play), which includes One Shot and Rain Sound, the former being quite powerful while the later was much more mellow. Both Songs showcased their amazing talent. Beautiful from SHINee's Misconceptions of You was one of the rare songs I like more than the title song. It is also a song which once you listen to the live, you can't look at the audio the same way. Tell Me Tell Me is also one of those songs which take time getting use to. Rainbow shows that they can be cute and soft as well as fierce and sexy! Teen Top's Miss Right grabbed my attention as it incorporates a disco theme in it. The song is really catchy while the dance has parts which are easy for fans to catch while also having parts which are complicated.
March-
1. In Front of The Mirror- GLAM
2. Bad Girl- Ladies' Code
3.Expect- Girls Day
4. Rose- Lee HI
5.Get Up- EvoL
I absolutely love In Front of The Mirror as not only is the song amazing, it actually talks about something which affects all girls. The dance is also amazing and the music video is subtly cute while intertwining the girls' uniqueness. Ladies' Code is already really popular in Korea with just one song, Bad Girl. Their talent is definitely something to watch out for! Girls Day changed their image completely with Expect and the signature suspenders dance. The song showcases their amazing talent while also being catchy. The super rookie Lee HI did it again with Rose. The song it just breathtaking as the young soloist proves her stance. Get Up by EvoL was a upbeat and fresh song which was simple and short yet still as good as other songs. The dance is also simple but "it is their style".
April-
1. Love Blossom- K.Will
2. Somebody- 15&3. What's Your Name- 4Minute
4. Jeon Won Diary- T-ara N4
5. Why So Serious- SHINee
6. Should Have Treated You Better- uBeat
Love Blossom by K.Will is a nice song to listen to in spring as his voice soothes you. The music video is purposely hilarious and i never fail to smile while listening to this song. Somebody by the talented duo 15& is a song which is cute and catchy while proving how talented they are. The cute dance and hilarious music video is just a bonus. 4Minute made a comeback with What's Your Name after a year away from the Korean music industry. The song is catchy and fun and the girls' new hairstyles look great on them. T-ara N4's Jeon Won Diary has a great dance which can be followed by fans. The song seemed to address the recent issues that T-ara had been in. Why So Serious by SHINee incorporated a rock and musical style into the catchy song. Though Jonghyun was unable to join in promotions, the boys did a good job of subbing for him. UKiss's subgroup uBeat debuted with the song Should Have Treated You Better. Kevin's softer vocals mixed with Eli and AJ's stronger voices and created this sad love song.
May-
1. Come Back When You Hear This Song- 2PM
2. Miss Korea- Lee Hyori
3. What's Happening- B1A4
4. Heart Attack- EXO
5. All Day Think Of You- 2PM
6. I Love You- Akdong Musician
Come Back When You Hear This Song by 2PM really made people go back to listen to it again as it proved that 2PM is really a global group. All Day Think Of You made fangirls all around the world scream with the sexy dance. Both songs are catchy and melodramtic love songs with the boys looking smoking as usual. Korea's sexy diva Lee Hyori came back after two years with Miss Korea. The self composed song gained attention with its meaningful lyrics and 50s style. The quirky song What's Happening by B1A4 won them their first trophy on a music show. The dance was cool and complicated while still showing their style. Heart Attack by EXO was another song that i liked better than their title. The song is catchy and has a beat which is great for dancing. Akdong Musician sang self composed I Love You for drama All About My Romance. The music video shows off the adorable side of the siblings as they dance and bicker over Soohyun's innocent crush on actor Lee Hyun Woo.
June-
1. Female President- Girls Day
2. Give It To Me- Sistar
3. I Dance- IVY ft Yubin
4.Trap- Henry
5. Black Tinkerbell- Chocolat6.First Love- After School
Female President by Girls Day showed their fierce side, standing for girls making the first move. The song is catchy and the lyrics are meaningful. Sistar's Give It To Me has an awesome dance and illustrates their talent, the moulin rouge style fitting them very well. The music video was perfect for the song while also adding some hilarious parts with Shin Dong Yeop. Soloist Ivy came back with I Dance featuring Wondergirls member Yubin. The song demonstrated Ivy's talent in both vocals and dance, intertwined with Yubin's sexy rap. Super Junior M member Henry became a soloist with Trap, featuring SHINee's Taemin and SuJu's Kyuhyun. This song proved that he is not only talented in singing and dancing but also piano while also being good looking. Unfair isn't it? Black Tinkerbell by Chocolat showed their fans that in the hiatus, they had improved so much. The dark song incorporated a great dance and the girls looked and sounded great. Last but not least, is First Love by After School. I can not get over how amazing the dance is. Though Lizzy was not able to join them and Nana later injured herself, the girls made the best of it and did well in the end.
So here are some of my favourite songs of 2013 January to June. Though there are many other songs that i liked, these were the ones which topped my list. Thanks for reading!
B.A.P's Coffee Shop was not included as not the whole album is out yet.
